People Are Googling Your Nursery Before They Ever Drive Out to See It

A small local plant nursery lot with potted perennials, shrubs, and trees on a sunny spring day

Someone's planning a Saturday planting project. Before they get in the car, they search "nursery near me." A list comes up. They tap through two or three sites, check hours, check what's in stock, maybe look at a few photos.

If your nursery isn't one of the sites they land on, they never make it to your lot. They end up at the big box store or the nursery down the road that showed up first.

    That's not a sales problem. That's a visibility problem.

Most small nurseries are invisible online

A lot of nurseries run on word of mouth and a Facebook page that gets updated when someone remembers to do it. That worked fine for years. It doesn't work as well now, because the first stop for most people isn't Facebook. It's Google.

If someone searches your nursery's name, or "nursery" plus your town, and nothing solid comes up, you look like you might not be open, might not carry what they need, or might not be worth the drive. None of that has to be true. It just looks that way when there's no site.

What a nursery website actually needs

You don't need an online store. You don't need a way to reserve plants ahead of time. You need:

    • What you carry, in plain terms (perennials, trees, shrubs, soil, mulch, whatever your specialty is)
    • Hours and location, easy to find, no digging
    • A few real photos of your lot and stock, not stock photography
    • A simple way to call or message you

That's the whole job. It answers the question before they ever pull in the driveway: is this place worth the trip.

Why this matters more for a nursery than most local businesses

You're seasonal. Your inventory changes month to month. Your busiest hours are a handful of days a week in spring and summer. A website doesn't take a day off and doesn't care what season it is. It's working for you at 9pm on a Tuesday when someone's browsing what to plant this weekend.

    What this costs

The build is free. No setup fee. A simple monthly plan to keep it running once it's live. No contract tricks, no surprise upsell.

If you run a nursery around Fenton, Flint, Lansing, or Detroit and your current online presence doesn't match what your lot actually looks like, reach out. I'll build it and show you before you spend a dime.
